Not much new this week...Katelyn has slept a little better the last two nights, hopefully it will continue. She still loves her toes and if put on her tummy will almost instantly roll herself over. She still hasn't rolled from her back to her tummy again, but is pretty close. Her favorite toys are still anything that crackles, that is after her fingers & toes. :)
Weight at support group on 6/29 was 12 pounds 10 ounces!
We went to the annual Fishers Freedom Festival this morning. Ate some good food, Brendan played on the playground and attempted a few games in the Children's tent. I think that next year, he'll really get into them. They were a little challenging for him and it was really loud inside the tent, so hard to explain the games to him. We even ran into Aunt Jenny & Uncle Rob.
After his nap, we met back up with Aunt Jenny & Uncle Rob to watch the parade. We got a late start and just barely made it to the end of the parade route when the firetrucks (beginning of the parade) were coming by. I was afraid that Brendan would be bored/not interested in the parade, but was pleasantly surprised to be DEAD wrong! He had a blast! Loved the firetrucks, race cars, motorcycles, and tractors. It was right up his alley! Katelyn even enjoyed the parade despite it being terribly hot out.
Katelyn checking out GrandBob's mustache. Brendan loving his boat! He's somewhat fearless in the water now...kinda scary for Mommy! Katelyn dipped her toes in the water again today and decided that she liked it this time!
Where is the time going! Katelyn has improved on her sleeping this week...actually took some decent naps and had two decent nights of sleep - 6-7 hours in a row. She loves to play...with her hands, her toes, or anything that crackles or crinkles. I've started packing away her 0-3 month clothes...some are getting too small and we didn't have too many summery outfits in those sizes either. It's sad to see all the little tiny clothes being packed away. But on the bright side, we have so many "new" outfits for her to wear now!
Katelyn has discovered her toes this week! She loves to grab them and put them in her mouth. It's really quite cute to watch.
On the downside, she has regressed in her sleeping. We're back to getting up every 3-4 hours at night. While I'm used to it now, it's still frustrating, esp. after she was sleeping so well earlier on.
Since my maternity leave has been "extended", we've gotten some extra visits in to the Children's Museum. Brendan loves the trains as well as Playscape. This time we went, he loved the carousel. He looks very serious in the pictures, but asked to go "round & round" twice and kept talking about "my tiger" that he rode the second time.
I heard about this event from a fellow coupon clipping Mommy. This is an annual event that the Westfield Department of Public Works puts on. They had various trucks in the parking lot of Westfield High School and all the kids could climb in them and "drive" them. Brendan was a little unsure of it all at first (granted, it didn't help that he fell asleep in the car on the way there), but quickly warmed up. Katelyn slept for pretty much the entire time, until someone laid on the horn of the semi truck we were standing right next to. Brendan and I both jumped it was so loud and Katelyn quickly startled awake and was screaming. That's when we decided to call it a morning & head home! Brendan's two favorite's were the bobcat and the empty moving truck with the ramp to run up & down. It was well worth the $5 admission!
