Easter Egg Hunt

Luckily the weather cooperated and we were able to hunt for some Easter eggs outside after the kids woke up from their naps.
Katelyn really enjoyed looking for the eggs this year, as compared to hanging out in her carseat last Easter.

Brendan was a pretty good big brother, but was very gung-ho about getting the eggs.


I was pleasantly surprised to find daffodils and tulips planted in the backyard after we moved in!

The Easter Bunny came and filled the kids baskets with some goodies.

We woke up early and went to the early church service with Mamaw & GrandBob. Then, they were nice enough to take us to brunch at The Hawthorns.

They did both however, discover the beauty of a buffet.
Brendan went back multiple times, of course mostly for desserts.
Then, the kids had the opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny.
Katelyn was a little leery of the Bunny...
Brendan thought that the Bunny was pretty cool...I mean, she had eggs with candy, right?!
Mamaw was trying to convince/trick Katelyn into sitting on the Bunny's lap...
...it didn't work.
But, she had no problems taking eggs out of her basket.

Moving Day!

The movers arrived a little after 8am today. I thought that I was fairly organized, but thank goodness for Mamaw coming over to lend an extra set of hands.
The first two trucks were loaded up pretty quickly. The second truck really just had most of the big furniture - sectional, couches, beds, etc. So, then we were off to the new house!
Eventually, a second trip was made and the two trucks were filled again! I'm not sure how well they ended up packing the second two. At one point in the afternoon, one of our crew of 5, hurt his back. The owner of the company sent him to a MedCheck and came out himself with his son to help his crew finish up. They were here just over 12 hours...it was a very long day. We have boxes everywhere! We'll get settled eventually though. :)

Got the keys!

We closed on our new house this morning.

Mamaw & I (with the help of the kids) moved some boxes to the new house - mainly things that we didn't want the movers moving - framed pictures and our good china/crystal.

Aunt Julie was so sweet and came over to re-paint Katelyn's new room. (It was green & pink before - cute, but really not my taste & it doesn't go with Katelyn's bedding.)

Before heading back to our old house for our last night there, we let the kids play on the new swing set. They are loving it!

Mamaw's cousins - Debby & Kathy, as well as their mom, Kitty, came over and put a major dent in our packing to do list today. It was so nice of them to come over and help! I worked most of the day, but did get to visit with them for a few minutes once I got home from work.

Katelyn & Ellie

Katelyn has discovered the dogs recently. She likes to go and check on them while they are in their beds, either their pillows or their crates. So far, she's been very gentle. Hopefully that will continue.
