27 Months

Our baby is growing up! Katelyn talks non-stop and even sings songs to us. :) She's enjoying trains like her brother, her "little kids", i.e. Little People, but is also becoming interested in puzzles. Elmo, esp. "Big Elmo" is her best friend and there are often tears when she is told that he can't go with her. (Although apparently, Big Elmo has made some trips in the car to accompany them to daycare and also in the bike trailer to the park.) She's is a very adventurous eater and will often prefer our dinners to the chicken nuggets that are often made for big brother Brendan. She LOVES juice, esp. juice boxes and seems to sniff out their location. She can even get the Capri Sun's open all by herself. Her other favorite is fruit snacks. We have to hide those as well, as one package or even two is not always enough for her. She's still a good sleeper and is currently still in her crib. Although she can climb into her crib all by herself and refuses to let us put her in there now. Knock on wood, but she hasn't tried to climb out yet. So we're still enjoying her confined to a crib for now.

She is still a pacifier addict. Mommy is weak and we were down to just one pacifier plus her catepillar wubnub (which she has started to chew a small hole into), and I broke out a new one as it was apparent that she wasn't going to go to sleep without another one. She has gone potty on the potty a few times now, although we haven't pushed very hard. I told myself that we would work on it this summer...we'll see. :) Katelyn still loves stickers, but is also very big into coloring and "writing my name", meaning scribble a line. :) But I think that her scribbles are pretty good for 27 months, esp. when compared to her brother who wants nothing to do with a crayon. :)
