Brendan's Favorite Part of Halloween

Passing out candy to "the kids"! Everytime the doorbell rang while we were eating dinner, he'd jump/slide out of his chair and run to the door to give them each a piece of candy! He was so sad and disappointment when we said that they weren't any more kids coming.

Trick or Treat!

Our Little Engineer. We had a Thomas the Tank Engine costume for him, but I think that he was afraid of it. He refused to put it on. The best I got of the two of them together!
"Where's the candy?!? Mom, you said that there would be candy if I sat up here!"

Baby (Butterfly) Bug with her Daddy Brendan was a little shy in going up to the doors. We had a hard time getting him to say "Trick or Treat", but he would say "thank you" pretty reliably.
He was excited about all the "pink" candy that he saw though!
A little chilly for Baby Bugs...
Brendan ran into his friend, Cormick (Thomas the Tank Engine) while out trick or treating. Both boys were more interested in playing with the train cars they had stashed in the Halloween buckets than getting candy!

Carving our first pumpkin

Brendan was a big helper in scooping out the pumpkin guts while Chris & I did the actual carving of the pumpkin. We even baked the pumpkin seeds to eat later!

Older 2's Halloween Party

Katelyn & I got to attend Brendan's class Halloween party at The Playschool. They carved a pumpkin, made "ooze bottles" and guessed objects in a Mystery Box after eating a bunch of sugary treats!

Playschool Halloween Party

Brendan & Katelyn's "school", i.e. daycare, hosted a Halloween party on Thursday evening. The kids got to have a trial run of their costumes. They had Halloween themed food, as well as games with prizes for the kids. It was a lot of fun and we were so glad that we went!Eating some "pink ice cream"....peppermint in this case!
Finally getting into some of the games that they had set up around the school.
A crawling butterfly!

Stony Creek Pumpkin Patch

We took our 3rd annual trip to Stony Creek Farms this afternoon to have a little autumn fun and pick some pumpkins from the pumpkin patch. We had some lunch, then played in the hay maze. Brendan had a great time tossing the loose hay around and making piles of it. Katelyn was curious about the hay as well!

Then we took a tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch. The tractors were of course a huge hit with Brendan. He kept running around looking for them whenever he started to hear them rumble by.

This one is a little closer to his size.

Trying to get a picture with my two wild monkeys...
A family picture back on the hay ride
Trying to get two kids & two pumpkins back to the car.
Brendan and the pumpkins. It's hard work picking out pumpkins...we had one tired little boy on our hands!

Crawling to my toys

I need to get some video of her crawling and see if I can get it posted here. But in the mean time...here are some more pictures.

31 Weeks

It's been a big week for Katelyn. On Thursday evening, Chris was working late, so I was on my own for bedtime. Brendan was getting his bath and I let Katelyn roll around & play with some toys in the loft. Part way through Brendan's bath, I looked out into the loft to see Katelyn up on all fours and scooting towards me. She was moving her hands forward and then pulling her knees/butt forward. It wasn't fast and it wasn't pretty, but she was moving forward! By Friday night, (7 months exactly) she was definitely crawling and hasn't really stopped since then! She's getting quite good and quite fast even with the laminate/slippery floors.

Homecoming 2010

IU eeked out a victory for Homecoming this year by beating Arkansas State by 2 points.
As always, we had a great time at the post-game tailgate.

Trying to get a smile of out Katelyn. I think that she was saying, "Bring on the food!"Brendan playing in his "monkey containment device", i.e. Mamaw's big red truck. Let's him play with his train cars and let's us eat and not worry about him running around in the parking lot!

First vs. Third

Baby Bobby checking out GrandBob.

Halloween Preview

Brendan is refusing to put on his Halloween costume, so we figured that Katelyn could at least model it!
Even Uncle Rob was willing to try it on. Not sure what Brendan has against the costume, as he LOVES Thomas currently.

Katelyn's actual Halloween costume...a Butterfly. We need to get her a different onesie to put underneath her sweatsuit, but otherwise, she's ready to go!
