More Sunday swimming

We enjoyed some more swimming on Sunday. Brendan is getting braver, esp. in his boat. He'll happily jump off the side...we tried to convince him to jump off the diving board, but he wouldn't go for it. ;) (Or diving doard, if you're Bobby) ;)

Sunday

The boys enjoyed some trains early Sunday morning while Katelyn enjoyed being Katelyn. ;) She borrowed Mamaw's glasses and some of her clip-on earrings.

Katelyn & Bobby also enjoyed a game of Ring A Round the Rosie.  :)

I think that the "all fal down" was the best part!
Afterwards, we enjoyed a very yummy brunch of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, french toasted and roasted tomatoes and fruit.

Saturday afternoon

We got a late start to nap time, so our afternoon was pretty short.   Katelyn managed to get in a little swimming time after her nap.  Brendan initially didn't want to swim, but of course once Katelyn got out, he did.  He did get to swim for a few minutes before it was time to get dressed to go out to dinner at the Club.   We were able to meet Uncle Jim and Papaw at the Club for some yummy dinner.  It was even somewhat relaxing in that the kids enjoyed some time downstairs in the Kids Only Club.  :)

Saturday morning

Enjoying some breakfast together...

When we visited Jingle Rails just after Christmas in December, Mamaw was chatting with one of the volunteers there. She learned that he has a model train set up in his backyard and lives in Carmel. He agreed to let us come up on Saturday and see the trains.  Papaw was able to join us as well. :)

Of course, we had to end the morning with our traditional lunch at Shapiro's Deli - this time we went to the Carmel location instead.

This was taken about 30 seconds before she of course broke them...  ;)

The Shoemaker Sheraton Weekend

This was our 5th annual summer weekend "stay-cation" at Mamaw & GrandBob's house.

The kids enjoyed some time to play while we all snacked and relaxed a little bit.

Katelyn's Swimming Lessons

I was definitely not as impressed with Katelyn's swim lessons, although she certainly enjoyed herself.  The only class she could be in based on age (and meeting at a similar time as Brendan's) was the 6-36 month class.  I thought we had taken this class before and they had divided the class into 6-18 months and 19-36 months.  Katelyn and another little girl, Logan, were by far the oldest there.  It was a lot of singing songs and splashing in the water.  If Katelyn wasn't already so comfortable in the water, it would've been great, but she's definitely ready for something more.

Brendan's Swimming Lessons

The Fishers Y had a 3 week summer session of swimming lessons (2x per week), so I braved it and signed the kids up for essentially back to back lessons. (7/24 - 8/9) Brendan was definitely a little nervous for day 1 and kept telling me that he "couldn't swim all by himself". But with the help of Miss Jessica, he put his bubble belt on and actually made an attempt at swimming! He doesn't like to get his face wet and is still quite fearful, but I think that it's mostly a healthy level of fear. :)
