Stories with Daddy

Chris is in charge of baths in our house. It's his time to be with the kids. I get a few minutes of peace & quiet in the evenings and finish cleaning up the kitchen or put away some laundry. He also usually reads some stories to Brendan while I feed Katelyn & put her in bed. Sometimes Katelyn enjoys story time with Daddy & Brendan too. Lacey (black & white kitty) has taken a liking to Brendan as well, so she is often seen in his room at bedtime. She can see her tail behind the book!

Gymboree

Brendan is still doing his Gymboree class. He's about to be too old, age wise, for his Level 6 class. I think that we'll keep going through the summer, as he still enjoys it most days and I enjoy our time together as well. Sometimes he doesn't want to do the group activities, but he always asks to go back while we're driving home.

Smiley Girl!

Organization!

We got a new organizer for the family room to attempt to contain all of the kids toys. We're really happy with it and it seems to be making a difference.
Katelyn is enjoying pulling toys out & putting them back in.

Brendan, well...

Yeah for new clothes!

Katelyn was so excited to get some new clothes today! She helped me open the box and unpack them. You'd think that she never gets any new clothes... ;)

Just playing around

Katelyn & Brendan were playing this afternoon, so I took the opportunity to play around with the settings on my camera that I've been learning about in my photography class. These are some of the ones that turned out.

Building before bed

Brendan recently discovered the diaper packages/boxes that are in his closet make great building materials. We have built towers & sand castles the last couple days before naps & bed.

44 Weeks

It's so hard to believe that my baby is now 10 months old!

We went to support group on Tuesday (1/18) and she has actually doubled her birth weight! 16 pounds 6 ounces!

She's still wearing mostly 6-9 month clothes and we're still finishing off some size 2 diapers.

Katelyn is a very fast crawler and is often heard laughing/chuckling and seen grinning as she crawls across the floor. She's been enjoying all of her new toys from Christmas. She likes to tap her blocks together and loves to walk around behind her push toys. She loves music and hugs her seahorse toys that plays music that we listen to at night in her room.

Katelyn is a definite snuggle bug as well. She loves being held and often lays her head on your shoulder to cuddle. She also started to pat us on the back while hugging us, which is what we often to do to her. So cute! :)

I don't think that she's said any real words yet, but is definitely babbling more and more.

Today, while Mamaw was babysitting, she saw Katelyn opening and closing her hands while they sang twinkle twinkle little star.

Katelyn is eating like a little horse lately. She's pretty much given up on pureed foods. She'll let me mix her oatmeal with pureed fruits, but otherwise, she wants cubes of cheese, pieces of turkey or chicken, cottage cheese, sometimes yogurt, diced pears, blueberries, bananas, sweet potatoes, peas, carrots, and corn.

ETA: She has stood very briefly by herself.

The PA Babies Playdate

Kristin & Cynthia came over this afternoon with Amelia & Lexi to play. All the girls had such a great time! It was fun to catch up and watch the girls play. Hopefully we'll get together again soon.

Katelyn teaching Lexi bad things, like crawling on the treadmill.

Visit to the Children's Museum

We had a great visit to the Children's Museum today. We were a little worried about it being really crowded on a Saturday morning, but it really didn't seem that busy. The kids both had a great time exploring.

Of course the first thing we went to see were the trains.
Then we ventured up to Playscape.
Katelyn had fun crawling around and exploring.
Brendan, of course, found the trains in Playscape too.
Katelyn really loved playing in the Babyscape area.

The rocking horse was one of her favorites. She actually got it rocking all herself and was pretty tickled about it. :)

Brendan did tear himself away from the trains for a little bit to play in the sandbox.

Then we went to check out the Jolly Days Exhibit. Brendan found a train in there too.
They had a "baby" area as well.

"I guess I knocked him over....opsie!"
Brendan doing some ice fishing and sliding down the little slide. He thought that that big slide by the water clock looked too scary. Maybe next year he'll want to do it.
