Day at Silver Beach

On Friday, we headed down to Silver Beach fairly early in hopes of seeing the morning Amtrak train stop at the Silver Beach station. There was another statue, "A Corn Dog" at the train station that the kids got a kick out of, esp. since it resembled our Dora dog.

Brendan wasn't so sure about how loud the engine might be.

After seeing the train, we trekked over to the beach.  It was somewhat of a hike from the parking lot to the beach.  And apparently after about 2 minutes of playing in the sand, the kids needed a snack break. 

But soon enough, they were enjoying the sand.  Brendan thought it would be fun to try to climb the mountain of sand underneath the lifeguard stand. 

There was a lot of digging and splashing up to their ankles.  (Far enough for mommy's comfort!)

There was a huge hole on the beach that someone had left.  Brendan climbed inside and started to cover himself with sand....Daddy helped finish the job off. 

Brendan was pretty pleased with himself.  :) 

We enjoyed some pizza after our beach time before  heading back from some rest at the condo.  The kids were pretty tired from their morning, so they were a little squirrely by the end.  :)
